Volunteer Program
Find connection and meaning as a volunteer.
Encircle volunteers are essential! They create meaningful connections with guests and make sure everyone who comes to Encircle feels welcome. We’re always looking for passionate & dedicated individuals to join us.
What do volunteers do?
We’re always looking for passionate & dedicated individuals to join us.
Short Term Volunteers
- Short term volunteers support one-time or recurring monthly events that bring youth, families, and community members together
- These volunteers may assist with event setup and breakdown, welcome and guide attendees, help run individual activities or logistics, or prepare and serve snacks/food
- Workshop/activity volunteers lead a specific one-time experience for guests (author visit, art night, speaker night, music night, wellness workshop, etc)
Long Term Weekly Volunteers
- These volunteers support programs once a week on a long-term basis, allowing them to build connections with guests that can have a lasting impact
- Commitment is either 6 or 12 months
- Shifts occur weekly on the same day for 1.5 to 2.5 hours
- Weekly volunteers receive online or in-person training
- They may welcome and supervise guests during drop-in hours, support the programs and activities happening in the home, or help prepare and serve food
- We also have volunteers who facilitate our weekly support groups (called Friendship Circles)
Who Can Volunteer?
- Volunteers can be LGBTQ+ folks, parents and family members of LGBTQ+ folks, or allies
- All volunteers must be 18+ years of age
- Volunteers must successfully pass a background check
- Community partners can arrange a one-time group service project
- We’d love to find Spanish and ASL speaking volunteers, so send them our way!
