Intern Program
Learn valuable skills and connect with LGBTQ+ young people
Encircle interns get hands-on experience in community outreach, mental health support, programming and nonprofit work, helping them build meaningful skills while making a positive impact. They also help create a welcoming, affirming environment where LGBTQ+ young people can feel safe, understood, and valued.
What do interns do?
- Direct and support volunteers
- Organize and facilitate select programs and peer-led support groups
- Supervise Drop-In Hours by enforcing home agreement
- Support, serve, connect with, and learn from members of the LGBTQ+ community
- Provide crisis support to community members using Encircle’s processes
- Commitment is 4-6 months
- 10-15 hours per week during the following times: Mon-Fri 3-8pm
- Help plan daily, weekly and monthly events for the community
- Collaborate with programs team in completing tasks and projects
Who can intern with us?
- Interns can be LGBTQ+ folks or allies
- All interns must be 18+ years of age
- Interns must successfully pass a background check
- Language skills in Spanish and ASL preferred but not required
