“I Love YOU” is a deeply impactful 90 second holiday ad about a mother and her unconditional love for her LGBTQ+ son. There is no dialogue in this spot. At first it is unclear whether the mother struggles to come to terms with her young son’s innocent love for Barbies, flowers, fairy dust and everything in between – or if she is just incredibly busy getting ready for the holidays. But on Christmas morning, the mother has a heartfelt surprise in store for her son.
Character Bios (Paid):
Any race/ethnicity considered; people of color strongly encouraged to audition.
[MOM] [GENDER: FEMALE] [RACE/ETHNICITY: ANY] [AGE: 25-45]
MOM is a conservative, religious woman who calls Utah County home. She has 4 kids. SON is her youngest. She realizes SON is different. She’s extremely busy and flustered with creating the perfect Christmas for her family, but also worries about her son and his safety. She is quite passive about his fascination for “girl products.” Will she be able to love and accept her son?
[SON] [GENDER: MALE] [RACE/ETHNICITY: ANY] [AGE: 6-10]
SON finds joy in everything. Innocence and happiness ooze out of his body. He loves playing with his sisters and their toys. He loves to run around and play in the snow with his siblings. His hair is always a little disheveled/messy. When he is not with family he is more shy and reserved, but still maintains his happy spirit. He is the first to strike a funny pose in front of the mirror and make everyone feel comfortable.
Extras Needed (Unpaid): (each 1 partial day of filming only - TBD)

3 older siblings (2 girls, 1 boy)
